Good rainy day in Vilnius! For the past few weeks we've been interviewing a selection of StartupHighway teams. The next team in the spotlight is Place I Lice (Lt.,kur gyvenu.lt) and their co-founder Andrius Gintalas.
Countdown to Demo Day
Hey, how are you?
I ‘ve realized that development of web service is definitely not as easy as it may seem at the first place. There is a long path from a simple idea to the final product. People who I met in acceleration program will remain for long time in memory. I will remember the time spent in the program as the best of all I had.
What’s the name of your company?
www.kurgyvenu.lt / www.placeilive.com
What you do?
It is very easy to get lost in this world of information. There is too much of information and too little time to systematize and process it. Information about the quality of the place of residence and its surroundings is highly important for choosing a place to live. The goal of the site www.kurgyvenu.lt is to provide understandable and user friendly information which would help to make smart decisions about homes and real estate. According to the market research, we conclude that such a service is not provided in Lithuania and neighborhood countries. To sum it up, it's a perfect opportunity to develop the service in other countries as well.
How did you come up with this idea?
The idea was developed from personal experience. I wanted to know much more than the area, price and parking space at the moment I was choosing real estate. I remember I was interested in information about the environment, telecommunications, security, distances, costs of the services etc. Unfortunately I didn't know where and how to find such information.
What expectations do you have in terms of expansion and revenue?
To be the largest collector of information related to real estate in the region and to create an access and possibility to dispose information to consumers and businesses.
What’s next after Demo Day?
We will continue developing the service ant scaling it in other countries.
You’ve been talking with mentors for a number of hours, how was it? Do you have a favorite one?
It was really wonderful to communicate with mentors - then people openly shared their experience and contacts. All the mentors told that the information of the real estate has value and that we are solving a real problem. I believe after the end of the program I will be able to write some of the mentors and get advice.
Is something you would like to tell to other start-ups?
It's easier to do business with friends. On the other hand it's far easier within acceleration program. What really is the idea worth - mentors would tell the truth as well as how it can be implemented. It's like a light at the end of the tunnel.
Stay dry!
